Andrew Fisher and the rest of the band never disappoint. I’m excited to listen to the full album!
  • Bad misstep to a shaky recovery

(Teaser tracks) After having listened over their first teaser track, “Disconnect,” I was somewhat taken aback by how plain it sounded. A catchy, but overly simple track to start off what once was a gruff post-punk band. Not a great way to introduce long-time listeners. Stigmata, while still a relatively lukewarm track, I’m starting to see some more versatility to Basement’s potential catalogue, taking notes from groups like Deftones and Chevelle through their moodier riffing. The bridge is by far the highlight of the track, while the tempo better compliments their newer, softer approach. Expecting good things in the future.
  • Not as good as their old stuff

I really dug Basement, but this new song, while catchy, has lost the edge that drew me to Basement in the first place. Bland, predictable.... I certainly hope the rest of the lp isn't this slick and uninteresting.

With Basement’s last album, I bought it immediately and it is the same now. The pre-release song is amazing and it’s been awhile and I’m excited for the new album. They’ve kept their sound and it’s going to be great:)
